“Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist.Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.” ― G.K. Chesterton (20th Century writer)
I am a member of The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). The SCA is an international not-for-profit, educational organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe.
In 2008, I created an annual event aimed at encouraging children and youth to participate in our hobby. It Takes My Child to Raze a Village is built on Family-friendly activities that either teach about Medieval Life, or share knowledge about SCA Society (how and why we do things the way we do them.) Below are a few photos from the past 8 years (minus 2011 - which was cancelled due to building issues). For more information you can check out the Website or Facebook page.
